BEHIND THE SCENES

In my Student Firms: The Studio course during my junior year, my class worked to produce a TV show called Hawktime! Over the course of the semester, we would create four segments, creating two original commercials for each one. Our class was split into two groups: every couple of weeks, one group would produce a segment while the other created the corresponding commercials.

My group and I created this commercial for the National Geographic show Running Wild With Bear Grylls to go with the other group's segment Abandoned Antiquities, which takes viewers through a bunker beneath one of the school buildings at the University of Hartford.

This commercial is intended to be a spoof of Bear Grylls' show where the talent is not very good at surviving in the wild. We then compare her efforts to the real Bear Grylls by saying, "want to see how it's really done?" and enticing viewers to watch the show.
